Privacy Policy
Effective date:
QRCode4Free ("we", "us", or "our") operates qrcode4free.com (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of our Service. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not require you to create an account or register to use this Service. We do not collect, store, or transmit personal identifying information (PII) — such as your name, email address, or phone number — to our servers. All QR code generation occurs entirely within your browser.
2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device
To provide the "Recent Codes" feature, the Service uses your browser's Local Storage API to save your QR code history directly on your device. This data:
- Is never transmitted to our servers or any third party.
- Remains entirely under your control.
- Can be deleted at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
3 Third-Party Services and Cookies
To fund the free Service and measure its performance, we use third-party vendors that may set cookies on your device or access cookie information. These third parties have their own privacy policies which govern their use of your information.
3.1 — Google AdSense
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google, as a third-party vendor, uses cookies (including the DSID and IDE cookies) to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. These cookies enable Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit history across the Internet (personalized advertising).
Opt-out: You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings, or by visiting aboutads.info.
3.2 — Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Service. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized, aggregated data such as pages visited, session duration, browser type, and geographic region (country level). This data does not personally identify you.
Opt-out: You may install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics.
4 Your Rights and Choices
5 Data Security
Since we do not transmit personal data to our servers, there is minimal server-side security risk for your personal information. We nonetheless maintain industry-standard practices for our infrastructure. No transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
6 Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service used by this site, please contact us so we can investigate.
7 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed.
